Disposable Vape Troubleshooting

Device acting up? Most disposable problems have a simple cause. Here’s how to diagnose the common ones — and when it’s just time for a new device.

Updated July 2026 · iSmokee Orlando & Kissimmee

It’s not hitting / no vapor

Burnt taste

A burnt or scorched taste usually means one of two things:

If it’s brand-new and already burnt, it may be a defective or counterfeit device — bring it in.

Weak hits / low vapor

Not charging

Leaking or spitting

Auto-firing (won’t stop)

If a button-fire device keeps firing on its own, it may be stuck or defective — stop using it, don’t leave it in a pocket or bag, and bring it in for a replacement. A device that gets hot on its own is one to retire.

When in doubt, bring the device to either store — we can usually tell in a minute whether it’s a simple fix, a dead battery, or a bad unit. If you bought it from us and it’s genuinely defective, we’ll take care of you.

FAQ

Why is my disposable vape not hitting?

Most often a dead battery — recharge it if it’s rechargeable. Also try a slower, longer draw, remove any airflow sticker/plug, and gently tap the device to settle e-liquid onto the coil.

Why does my disposable taste burnt?

Usually the e-liquid is running low (the device is near the end), or you’re chain-vaping and outrunning the coil — wait 15–30 seconds between puffs. A brand-new device that tastes burnt may be defective.

My disposable vape won’t charge — what do I do?

Try a different USB-C cable and a normal charger, and clean any lint out of the charging port. If it still won’t charge, it may be a dud or counterfeit — bring it in and we’ll look.

Why is my vape leaking?

Hard, rapid draws can pull liquid up; ease off and keep the device upright and out of heat. Wipe the mouthpiece and give it a minute. Persistent leaking on a new device may be a defect.
