Disposable Vape Troubleshooting
Device acting up? Most disposable problems have a simple cause. Here’s how to diagnose the common ones — and when it’s just time for a new device.
It’s not hitting / no vapor
- Check the battery. If it’s rechargeable, plug it in — a dead battery is the #1 cause. Look for a charge light or screen.
- Take a slower, longer draw. Many devices are draw-activated and need a steady pull, not a short sharp puff.
- Check for a sticker/plug. Some devices ship with a rubber plug or sticker over the airflow — remove it.
- Tap out air bubbles. Gently tap the device to settle e-liquid onto the coil, then try again.
Burnt taste
A burnt or scorched taste usually means one of two things:
- The e-liquid is running low — if the device is near the end of its life, that’s the flavor telling you it’s done.
- You’re chain-vaping — taking too many puffs back-to-back can outrun the coil. Wait 15–30 seconds between draws.
If it’s brand-new and already burnt, it may be a defective or counterfeit device — bring it in.
Weak hits / low vapor
- Recharge it — output drops as the battery gets low.
- Check the airflow — if it’s adjustable, open it up; if it’s blocked, clear it.
- Warm it in your hand — cold e-liquid (say, from a cold car) gets thick and vapes weakly until it warms up.
Not charging
- Try a different cable and port. Bad cables are common. Use USB-C into a normal charger.
- Clean the port — lint or debris in the USB-C port blocks the connection.
- If it still won’t charge, the device may be a dud or a counterfeit. See the battery guide, and bring it to us.
Leaking or spitting
- Don’t over-draw — hard, rapid pulls can pull liquid into the mouthpiece. Ease off.
- Keep it upright and out of heat; a hot device leaks more.
- Wipe the mouthpiece and give it a minute if it spat a little.
Auto-firing (won’t stop)
If a button-fire device keeps firing on its own, it may be stuck or defective — stop using it, don’t leave it in a pocket or bag, and bring it in for a replacement. A device that gets hot on its own is one to retire.
